Accessability in Hospitals and in medical centers is vital
Around the country's hospitals and medical centers, accessibility is vital as these places are regularly visited by citizens who are unable to manage the stairwells for one reason or another. This does not mean that it is necessary to install a large, high-speed elevator solution everywhere. In HYDRO-CON, we have for many years delivered both high-speed elevator systems, but also a majority of slower running both elevator lifts, platform lifts and stair lifts to hospitals and medical centers in Denmark.
There are usually some large stretcher elevators in the central locations at main entrances to hospitals where there is a lot of passenger traffic. However, as many hospitals are divided over many buildings, wards, and extensions, the need for smaller accessibility solutions may arise along the way. An example is pictured here from North Sealands Hospital, where we installed an LSPI (Low Speed Platform Indoor) platform lift at entrance 51 which i.a. leads to the maternity ward.
Advantages of smaller accessibility solutions such as platform lifts and elevatorlifts
Economic benefits
There are several benefits to insalling the smaller facilities as accessibility solutions. First of all, they likely to be more economical than traditional elevators. This is because they run at a slightly lower speed, and therefore do not have to live up to the elevator directive's requirements for a deep pit (excavation under the shaft) and a high top height (free space above the shaft), which means you can save some construction work as well as some time.
It is even more economical if you choose a platform lift over an elevator lift, as the platform lift saves materials for the closed cabin. It is a platform lift pictured below. As seen in pictures 4 and 5, it is just a platform and a single guide wall that runs inside a shaft. The platform lift is controlled for safety reasons by a holding pressure button, in which case an elevator lift is operated as you know it from an elevator with an impulse pressure button from the cabin. In addition, the elevator lift is similar to the elevator in all respects except that it runs at a lower speed, but this does not make much difference, especially if it is a matter of a few floors. And with a HYDRO-CON product, regardless of model, you are assured that both quality and safety are in the highest class!
Time-saving benefits
Another advantage is that the lack of a deep excavation and the need for space for high top height, makes the platform lift and the elevator lift quick and easy to install, and can get up and run much faster than a traditional elevator. They can be delivered as a single unit, and are connected and approved quickly from there.
Smaller solution as many accessibility benefits
Our elevator lift (LSC) and platform lift (LSP) are available in many different sizes, and can be adapted to very narrow stairwells and areas, but you still have the advantage of creating accessibility and an alternative to the stairs for people with walking difficulties and everyone else.
